WHAT WE DO
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

PUMP PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

UVS will evaluate the pump before any work is done.  Any concerns with pump performance or condition will be brought to the customer’s attention immediately and discussed to determine the best way to address the problems before preventative maintenance.

Preventative maintenance steps include:

  • Drain oil and remove access cover.

  • Clean oil reservoir of contaminants, remove oil separator, clean oil and contaminants from valve area, remove valve decks and inspect.

  • Replace all wear items on valve deck assembly.

  • Reassemble pump with all new valve components, O rings, gaskets, and sight glass.  Clean flow indicator and replace gaskets/O rings.

  • Fill pump with new oil and replace belts as necessary.

  • Test run pump for workmanship and performance.

UVS can supply new oil at an additional cost.

Waste oil will be disposed of at customer location.

VACUUM PUMP REBUILD PROCESS

Pumps must be drained of all liquids before shipping.

UVS visually inspects pumps received for any damage due to shipping and any missing components (motors, belt guards etc.)  Findings are documented.

Vacuum pumps are disassembled for evaluation.  Pump block and internal rotating components are inspected and measured to determine parts that are out of tolerance and need to be replaced.

Vacuum pumps are cleaned in the most environmentally friendly way.  Pump components are then inspected again and hand cleaned and polished when necessary.

Pumps are reassembled using all new standard rebuild parts.  Other parts that are out of tolerance will also be replaced at additional charge.

Pumps are test run.  Vacuum level, oil temperature and motor amperage are checked.  Pumps are leak checked using a helium mass spectrometer.

After testing, pumps are painted with a choice of blue, off-white or gray color.

After painting pumps are re-inspected and new labeling is applied where applicable.

Finished pumps are skidded for shipment.  UVS offers free pickup and delivery for local customers within a 50 mile radius of our location.  For customers outside of a 50 mile radius, having multiple pumps, UVS will work on a case by case basis with the customer to determine a mutually acceptable shipping method.

Parts that are considered part of a standard rebuild are:  bearings, shaft seals, seals, shaft sleeves, valves, valve springs, gaskets, O rings, drive belts, freeze plugs, solenoid valves, check valve O rings, sight glasses, oil flow indicator seals ,ball valves and filters.
